Chisholme Woodland Fund

A couple of years ago hundreds of people helped us to plant 4500 new trees, either by donating money or coming to Chisholme and volunteering, getting grubby knees and planting the little saplings. We now have a plantation of baby oak, beech, silver birch, Scots pine, rowan, cherry, field maple and others. In time it will provide a rich biodiverse habitat for native wildlife, including badgers, red squirrels and deer which are already established in other parts of the Estate. 

The Estate is already open to the public, with miles of footpaths around the 200 acres of pastures, gardens and woodlands. The new woodland is going to have new paths and viewpoints across the moors, open to all to enjoy. 

The trees in this woodland, and across the whole estate need ongoing care and maintenance, so please dig deep and help us create forests for the future. Thank you!
