Gill Williams, BA (Hons)
Chairman

Gill studied at the University of Leicester and has worked in education for many years, latterly focusing on working with young people with special educational needs. She has studied at the Beshara school since 1973 and has had the good fortune to attend local study sessions for the past thirty years. Gill also has studied 5 Rhythms dance movements, which have incorporated some of the spiritual exercises and movements taught by the students of Gurdjieff.


 
Michael Cohen, BSc, PhD

Michael studied Mathematics at London and Warwick Universities and did research at Newcastle. For many years he has taught A-Level Mathematics and Statistics at a London tutorial college. He has an abiding interest in the connections between science and spirituality.





Elizabeth Roberts, MA Oxon, MPhil

Elizabeth studied English at Oxford and Philosophical Inquiry at Glasgow University. For most of her life she has worked in education, from teaching English as a Foreign Language in Indonesia with V.S.O. to secondary school teaching, community education, and lecturing at Glasgow and Edinburgh Universities. More recently Elizabeth worked as adult guidance network coordinator for the Scottish Borders and as Team Leader with Careers Scotland. She has now turned her hobbies into her current job as a yoga teacher and practitioner of ayurveda.


Martin Lam

Martin is an Academician Mentor of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, and Chair of their Food Policy committee. He has been a senior judge for the Soil Association Organic Food Awards for the past 18 years and is a member of The Master Chefs of Great Britain. Until 2013 Martin was co-chef and owner of Ransome's Dock Restaurant, Battersea, London. He now works as a food, wine and restaurant consultant using his 40 years of experience and expertise in the UK restaurant business.


Christina Mark

Christina has been a student of the Beshara education for forty years, and her life has been profoundly inspired and influenced by it. She has worked for fifty years in the field of health care: as a registered general nurse, as a tutor in a college of further education, as a healing practitioner and trainer in energy healing and as a writer. She is author of 'Energy Healing - The Practical Workbook'.



Dr John Markson-Brown (PhD)
Secretary

John has been teaching and training teachers for over 25 years in various locations including Africa, South America and the Far East. He has been Director of Studies, Deputy Head, an Adult Learning Inspector, teacher and teacher trainer. He specialises in Teacher Training on CLIL, Methodology and CERT TESOL courses. He is an associate lecturer at the Open University teaching Education for Development on a Masters Degree programme and undergraduate courses. John and his wife, Carolyn live on a small farm in East Sussex.
