A Change in the Era
An insight into two major shifts in our perception of the sacred. From the era of temples, where ordinary people belonged to the profane outside world as opposed to the sacred interior of the temple - to the Christic perspective where the sacred was to be found in the act of intentional spiritual gathering as formalised by buildings such as in synagogues, churches and mosques - to our times, where it seems we have the choice to perceive the sacred everywhere on earth, or not.
A talk given by Peter Young during the annual trip to Turkey in 2010, at the Temple of Apollo, Didyma.
