Legacies

Making a Will is the best way to ensure that your affairs are in order and your family is provided for after you are gone. It is also an opportunity to make a contribution to a cause you believe in.

Please consider leaving a legacy to the Chisholme Institute to help secure its future for generations to come.

How to leave a legacy

There are two ways to leave a legacy to the Chisholme Institute. You can create a Will, including the details of your gift, or you can add a codicil to an existing Will. A codicil is a document which adds or makes a change to your existing Will without the need to rewrite it. Please speak to your solicitor to arrange this.

Inheritance tax

The Chisholme Institute is a registered charity, so all donations left to us are charitable for UK tax purposes and therefore exempt from UK inheritance tax. Gifts made to charity in your Will can also reduce the overall amount of tax that will be payable on your estate. Please speak to your solicitor for up to date details.
