Meditation
To begin with, meditation is simply practicing awareness – noticing what is happening without trying to change it. It is a vital element in self-discovery, through paying attention to what is going on in our mind and body, and to the awareness itself.
In all the School’s courses time is given to meditation, typically three half hour sessions each day. Initially these are guided mindfulness meditations. Later these give way to silent meditation.
Through meditation and the cultivation of awareness, we learn to approach both work and study as contemplative practices, and so bringing the element of devotion to all aspects of the course and in our own lives.
