Discovering Unity Seven Day Retreat

14 May 2016 19:00 to 21 May 2016 14:00
The Chisholme Institute, Roberton, Hawick, Scottish Borders TD9 7PH

Learn more about what discovering unity means during this week-long retreat course.

The course begins on Saturday evening with supper followed by an introductory talk and conversation. Sunday is a day of preparation, largely spent in silent retreat. The rest of the week follows a regular programme of study, conversation, work, meditation and devotional practice.

During study you will explore in greater depth themes that are introduced during the weekend and seven-week Discovering Unity courses. This week-long course is thus especially suitable for people who have experience of either of these courses. However, anyone who wants to learn more about themselves and the world can benefit from this week. It is also a good opportunity to get a better understanding of  what the longer six-month course involves.

A complementary week retreat is scheduled for August, which will explore the theme of 'Service' within the context of self-knowledge and unity. Please see Calendar for details.

Accommodation and Timing:
The course is fully residential. More about student facilities

. It starts at supper time (7pm) on Saturday evening and runs until the following Saturday after lunch (about 2pm).

The location is Chisholme House, a beautiful, secluded estate on the edge of open moorland, deep in the hills of the Scottish Borders. It is roughly an hour’s drive from Edinburgh, Newcastle and Carlisle, with a regular bus service from Edinburgh and Carlisle to Hawick, the nearest town.

How to get here...

Cost:
£350 including full board and lodging for seven nights. A £60 non-refundable deposit is needed in order to confirm your place; the £290 balance is payable when you arrive.

Note on course fees. There are no standard concessions offered because the fees have already been kept low. However, we do want the courses to be available for people on low incomes.
