Volunteer Week, May

2 May 2015 15:00 to 09 May 2015 14:00
Chisholme House, Roberton, Hawick, Scottish Borders TD9 7PH

As a volunteer at Chisholme you are appreciated for who you are, not only for what you do.

If you missed out on April, join us in May. Lot's of spring Sunshine, we hope, and more preparing, sowing and planting to be done: more salads and peas and French and runner beans, leeks and cabbages and kings and plenty happening in the tunnels. By now the garden will be pretty full with everything beginning to grow, so it's an exciting time to spend a week it all coming to life. Don't miss it!

Experience the joy of living and working in a place dedicated to supporting the discovery of our own potential.

Spend a week at Chisholme, working with others in the garden and helping to the spring growth get well established. Activities will be varied, and work in other areas (woodland, kitchen etc.) will also take place.

In addition to working with your hands you are invited to participate in conversation and study, which give space to enquire into your own questions which may arise during your stay. You are also most welcome to join in the daily meditation sessions and other activities.

Financial contributions:
A donation of £70 (£42 for students) for the week is asked for, which will help pay for some of the basic costs of your stay including your accommodation, instruction in new skills, all your food, tea and coffee, your laundry,  etc. Additional funding comes from our Volunteer Fund.

Concessions: If you are unable to pay or cannot pay the whole amount, then please do not hesitate to write to the secretary@beshara.org, to discuss your circumstances.

If you would like to visit Chisholme and volunteer please write to the secretary@beshara.org or phone +44 (0)1450 880 215 so we can send you an application form.

– the organic garden
– the forest and estate
– building and maintenance...

Volunteers are a vital part of life at Chisholme. The School could not have been built, nor maintained over the last forty years, without the support of many dedicated volunteers.
