Yurt Retreats

21 June 2014 12:00 to 16 August 2014
Chisholme House, Roberton, Hawick, Scottish Borders TD9 7PH

Time to simply be: walk in the woods; cook outdoors; watch the moonrise, and the sunrise; breathe in the scent of the pine forest; stride across the moors or just lie and watch the clouds.

Do nothing. Do everything. An opportunity to go off-line, leaving the never-ending stream of email, television, advertising, work, demands...

This year for the first time Chisholme is making available its yurt village to individuals, couples or small families for retreat vacations in the woodlands of the Chisholme estate.

Chisholme is located in the beautiful Scottish Borders, a wooded paradise set in the heart of open moorland. It has all the essentials of human existence, and few of the extras. Earth, sky, clean air, pure water, dark nights, shelter, warmth and plenty of weather!

The yurts are without electricity and there is no wi-fi or mobile signal. As such it is an opportunity to rediscover and reconnect with oneself, and with the truly good things of life, including family time, or for those who want, solitude and silence. Walkers can strike off in any direction without meeting another human soul, but all around there is animal, bird and plant life aplenty.

The Yurts: Chisholme has four platforms for yurts, located near the front drive, which together form a small yurt village, close to the cooking and washing facilities. There is also one yurt located further up in the woods a couple of minutes walk away.
