Midsummer Yurt Retreat
21 June 2014 to 28 June 2014
Chisholme House, Roberton, Hawick, Scottish Borders TD9 7PH
Beshara School
Spend time simply being: walk in the woods; cook outdoors; watch the moonrise, and the sunrise; breathe in the scent of the elderflowers; stride across the moors or just lie and watch the clouds wend their way. Do nothing. Do everything.
An opportunity to go off-line, leaving the never-ending stream of email, television, advertising, work, demands...
Be by yourself or with friends.
The yurts are without electricity and there is no wi-fi or mobile signal. As such it is an opportunity to rediscover and reconnect with oneself, and with the truly good things of life. Walkers can strike off in any direction without meeting another human soul, but all around there is animal, bird and plant life aplenty.
Facilities:
- The yurts can sleep up to four people.
- There is no mobile signal, wifi or electricity at the yurts.
- The retreat vacations are self-catering; visitors have use of a covered woodland kitchen, with an open fire barbeque and a clay bread oven. There is access to a shared fridge in the main house.
- A welcome box of home-made and garden produce will be given to visitors on arrival.
- A shopping trip can be arranged for visitors arriving by public transport at the start of their stay.
- There is a covered washing area with composting toilets and showers with scheduled hot water.
- Laundry facilities are available in the main house.
- Each yurt has a wood burning stove for heating, and wood is provided.
- Inside the yurts are simple but beautiful.
- Bedding, linen and towels are provided.
Washing facilities: The yurts have a purpose built washing area, with showers and composting toilets.
Cost: One week in a private yurt, self-catered, £350, each extra person £50 per week.
Dates: June 21 – 28, and at other times during the summer by arrangement (more here). If you would like to stay for less than a week (or more) please enquire for availability and costs.
