Spiritual practice in the midst of life: The Wisdom of Solomon

Apr 6, 2013 14:00
October Gallery, 24 Old Gloucester St, Bloomsbury, London WC1N 3AL
Presented by the Beshara Trust

An exploration of the theme of Mercy as discussed in the chapter on Solomon in the masterwork of Ibn ʿArabi, the Fusus al-Hikam. This seminar looks at Mercy and the Divine works of adoration through the ‘organs’ of the body. It is very practical in nature.

Ibn ʿArabi is a twelfth century mystic who is ‘one of the world’s great spiritual teachers.’  ‘His work is universal, accepting that each person has a unique path to the truth, which unites all paths in itself.' www.ibnarabisociety.org

No specific acquaintance with Ibn ʿArabi’s work is necessary.

The facilitators are Carolyn and John Markson-Brown, who are long-time students of Ibn ʿArabi.
They are interested in healing and horticulture and run a smallholding in East Sussex.

The seminar will finish at 5pm.
There is no cost, although donations towards room hire are gratefully accepted.

For more information or to book, please email london@beshara.org or telephone Michael Cohen on 020 8300 7928.
