Whatever may happen the man of wisdom is not caught up in one definite belief because he is wise unto himself

This seminar is one of a series  exploring the central proposition of The Kernel of the Kernel:-

“Whatever may happen the man of wisdom is not caught up in one definite belief because he is wise unto himself.” (Muhyiddin Ibn ’Arabi: Kernel of the Kernel)

The theme to be followed this autumn comes from a paper by Osman Fazli in which he informs us that:-

We do not possess anything else but our sensibilities as our real organ of intelligence.”

We will delve into this theme contemplatively and experientially, using relevant texts, poetry and conversation to question the implications for ourselves and our lives and identify the richness of “being” it points to.

Each seminar stands individually; the series also has in its continuing theme the intention of developing together a quality of discussion and a level of conversation reflecting the meanings intended.

In this next seminar we shall be reading further sections of The Kernel itself, together with other writings of Ibn ‘Arabi, including his Theophany of Perfection.
